Annual Mission Bells Run

  • San Juan Capistrano Train Station 26702 Verdugo Street San Juan Capistrano, California, 92675 United States (map)

Leader: Mike Connors

We’ll meet Father Connors at the San Juan Capistrano Train Station, with the run starting near the railroad crossing gates. This is a scenic route through the historic Los Rios District and surrounding area. The run is timed so that we will be in a specific spot where we will all hear the train horn whistle and church bells ring simultaneously on Sunday morning.

Time: Please arrive by 7:00 a.m., with the run starting at 7:15 a.m. sharp!

Location: Meet at San Juan Capistrano Train Station, located at 26701 Verdugo Street, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675, and gathering “on Los Rios Street” across the tracks from the train station.

Parking: The recommended parking is the free dirt lot on the creek side of the railroad tracks, shown in the photo below. This will help avoid getting stuck “on the wrong side of the tracks” if a train comes through before the start.

For anyone who does not want to drive on the dirt/gravel lot, the next best option is the paid parking lot next door, which is $2/hour.

After the Run: We’ll head over to the Swallow’s Inn Pub for breakfast after the run.
