Saturday Run - Aliso Creek Bike Trail/Laguna Niguel Reservoir

  • Laguna Hills Community Center and Park 25555 Alicia Parkway Laguna Hills, CA, 92653 United States (map)

Leader: Laura Rickhoff

Directions: From the 5 Freeway, exit on Alicia and head west. Turn right into Laguna Hills Community Center parking lot that is the first driveway after Paseo De Valencia.

About the Run: Starting from the Community Center, we will run up Paseo De Valencia, turn left on Laguna Hills Dr., and run down to Sheep Hills Park. At the park, we will pick up the Aliso Creek Trail and run on the trail up to the Mormon Church at the entrance to Aliso Woods. Go right into Aliso Woods (or if the gated entrance into Laguna Niguel Regional is open, cross over Alicia Parkway at the pedestrian crosswalk (to the right on Alicia) and then a quick left and then right into the park, running out and back along the paved side of the reservoir or around the reservoir if the dirt path is open. **Sorry, a lot of unknowns due to ongoing construction in the area. This is an out-and-back, so customize the run to your desired distance. Water and bathrooms are available at the baseball field along Aliso Creek Trail and at the ranger station near the Aliso Woods parking lot.

After the Run: Across the street from the community center is Karak House Coffee, serving light food options. For the hungry crowd, head over to Scratch Bakery in the Oakbrook Village Shopping Center at 24321 Avenida de la Carlota, Laguna Hills. Any other breakfast suggestions are welcome.
