Location: Parking lot at 13333 Black Star Canyon Rd. (free)

Directions: From Santiago Canyon Rd, turn onto Silverado Canyon Rd., and then make a left onto Black Star Canyon Rd and take it to the end for driving, up to the parking lot.

About the Run: From parking lot, the run starts by continuing up Black Star Canyon road. At 0.6 miles, turn right onto a mainly dirt road. At 2.4 miles from start, turn left on the fire road (we are not heading for Black Star Falls which is a single track, rocky trail). Then, go out and back as far as you want. The trail is only a gentle slope and “easy” up to the 2.4 mile point and then it starts getting steeper. It is all-up on the way out and all-down on the way back. Pretty views!

Most people will go shorter, but if you are feeling ambitious, you can run out 8.15 miles out to Beeks Place and the Doppler Ball for 16.3 miles roundtrip. Carry water, there is no water/restrooms on the trail and do not leave valuables in your car.
