Directions: Meet at Starbucks in the Cypress Village Shopping Center, 14061 Jeffrey Road, Irvine. From the 5 Freeway, exit at Jeffrey Road and head east (towards the foothills). Turn left into the Albertsons/Kohls parking lot just past Roosevelt.

About the Run: This is an 11-mile run, mostly on dirt and asphalt trails. We’ll start out on the Jeffery Open Space Trail between Trabuco and Roosevelt and head over the 5 Freeway footbridge, continue up Jeffery and connect to the Walnut Trail heading towards the Peters Canyon Trail. Cross over Harvard (carefully), then make a left and a quick right onto the Peter’s Canyon Trail (about 4 miles into the run). Continue on the Peters Canyon Trail for a little over 2 miles until it veers right into Hicks Canyon Trail. Soon you’ll pass Central Park Avenue and come upon Hicks Canyon Community Park on your right. There you’ll find water and bathrooms. Continue on Hicks Canyon Trail. It will take you up onto Portola Parkway. Cross over Jeffery to get back on the Jeffery Open Space Trail for the final miles back to the shopping center. More water/bathroom stops along Jeffery Open Space Trail as well. See route map below.
